The IT Training Manager is responsible for ensuring that end users of all IT Services owned by the Global IT organisation are able to make use of them effectively. This includes the firm's End User Computing environment, Communications, Collaboration, Knowledge Systems, Client Systems, Corporate Systems and Project Systems.
The IT Training Manager will work with Business and IT Service owners to understand the training requirements for each system, define the training plan, design, produce, and maintain training materials in accordance the priorities. The Training Manager will collaborate closely with application teams, project teams, Regional IT colleagues, business and business change colleagues, and the Learning & Development function to be successful.
The IT Training Manager is part of a wider team that also provides portfolio, programme and project management, business analysis, quality assurance, communications and PMO capabilities to the firm’s global IT function.
Role
- Produce training strategy and gain stakeholder buy-in
- Undertake current state assessment of training / training materials for each Service, agree priorities and produce delivery plan
- Work with colleagues in Learning and Business Change to define and recommend the best approach to reach the desired outcome in for each system
- Design and produce (or source) training collateral in the form of videos, contextual help, intranet pages / wikis, user guides, social media/knowledge-base Q&A etc. with the assistance of the technical writer
- Organise, deliver and record training briefings/courses remotely or face-to-face as appropriate
- Understand the Project Portfolio, BAU and upgrade cycles, identify and deliver the associated training deliverables, update and report on the training work plan and budget
- Define and put in place a sustainable, maintainable approach for systems subject to frequent change, so that end user materials are up-to-date at all times in a cost/resource effective manner
- Manage supplier relationships
- Put in place user feedback and evaluation mechanisms and react accordingly
- Contribute to the Project Delivery Framework and re-purpose high calibre exemplars as standard approaches and templates to enable the wider organisation to easily delivery high quality training materials as needed
Requirements and skills
Experience, skills and knowledge :
- Substantial relevant experience
- Experience of the full cycle of learning design - diagnosis, design, delivery and evaluation, for both face to face and e-learning
- Experience of the design and delivery of innovative, modern training collateral
- Deep and broad Corporate IT knowledge, and expertise in at least one of a) IT Enterprise and Business Applications (both bespoke and off-the-shelf products e.g. CRM, HR systems, Finance systems etc.); b) End User Computing (including Microsoft 0365/SharePoint, Skype, video-conferencing etc.)
- Project Management experience - proven ability to lead a project end-to-end
- Stakeholder Management - managing requirements, helping to clarify needs and priorities, and managing expectations
- Hands on experience of designing, reviewing and interpreting usage analytics, performing data management and reporting
